Businesses that deal with data could be put out of business if they were to ever suffer a data loss, and those that are based completely online could run into debt if their business were to ever be hacked. A business that is heavily dependent on technology is bound to be crippled, or suffer from reduced productivity when there are issues with their tech. However, like a coin that has both sides, this dependence on technology also comes with its downsides. This can be seen as a good thing since this has led to an increase in business productivity, accuracy in manufacturing products, and elimination of the distance barrier when conducting business with customers. Businesses in our world today have become intertwined, and heavily dependent on technology.
